Haven't I seen this scene before?

My short film is a play on that moment and combines both my love for fashion, science and social politics and familiar visual devices. There, an element that has very real and very profound implications for real life. Some of us came to science or math through art or learned how to "do numbers" or read by doing something that people find frivolous. How a woman learns and who she learns from (as the young protagonist, let's call her the Girl) is also explored in the short film. Mainly, however, it is a fashion film though not in the contemporary sense. There is as much emphasis is on how a young woman finds her own voice using clothing as there are on the weightier symbols, all of which I hope to communicate, some of which may be lost. Oh well? Onward.
